พระครูวิบูลย์ธรรมสาร (หลวงปู่เพชร วชิโร) วัดอัมพวัน เกาะพงัน สุราษฎร์ธานี จัดได้ว่าเป็นภิกษุระดับปรมาจารย์ท่านหนึ่งของสุราษฎร์ธานี ในอดีตท่านเป็นอาจารย์ให้กับเกจิในยุคหลังมากมาย อาทิ ศิษย์เอก หลวงพ่อแดง วัดแหลมสอ และ พระครูสุวัฒน์ วัดใหม่ศรีทวีป และอื่นๆ อีกหลายองค์ครับ เกจิเหล่านั้นภายหลังล้วนแล้วแต่มีชื่อเสียงลือนามอยู่หลายรูปด้วยกัน เหรียญรุ่น 2 สร้างปี 2498 ถึงจะไม่ทันหลวงพ่อเพชร แต่พิธีปลุกเสกยิ่งใหญ่ เกจิทั้งจากเกาะสมุย และเกาะพงันร่วมปลุกเสก เป็นเหรียญหายาก และมากประสบการณ์ครับ
นามเดิมของท่านพระครูวิบูลย์ธรรมสาร คือ เพชร
ท่านเกิดที่บ้านมะเดื่อหวาน หัวเมืองพงัน (ขึ้น) เมืองไชยา ซึ่งในปัจจุบันได้แก่ หมู่ที่ 3 ตำบลเกาะพงัน อำเภอเกาะพงัน จังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี โยมบิดาชื่อ นายยวน โยมมารดาชื่อ นางจันทร์ ต่อมาเมื่อมีพระราชบัญญัติขนานนามสกุล พ.ศ.2456 เครือญาติของท่านใช้ชื่อสกุลว่า พรหมสนิท ท่านหลวงปู่เพชรเป็นบุตรคนสุดท้อง มีพี่ชายร่วมบิดา-มารดาเพียงคนเดียวชื่อ พร แต่เสียชีวิตตั้งแต่ยังเป็นเด็กเล็กหลวงพ่อเพชร เกิดเมื่อ วันจันทร์ แรม 13 ค่ำ เดือน 8 ปีมะแม คือ วันที่ 9 สิงหาคม พ.ศ.2390 นพศก จ.ศ.1209 ร.ศ.66 จึงกล่าวได้ว่า หลวงปู่เพชรเกิดในปีที่ 24 แห่งรัชสมัยพระบาทสมเด็จพระนั่งเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 3

หลังจากบรรพชาเป็นสามเณรแล้วท่านก็ครองเพศบรรพชิตเรื่อยมา จนอายุครบเกณฑ์อุปสมบท ก็ได้ทำการอุปสมบท เมื่ออายุ 21 ปี พ.ศ.2410 ณ พัทธเสมา วัดมธุระวราราม (วัดมะเดื่อหวาน) พระอุปัชฌาย์จันทร์ เจ้าอาวาสวัดมธุระวราราม เป็นพระอุปัชฌายะ พระอธิการขวัญ เจ้าอาวาสวัดโพธิ์ เป็นพระกรรมวาจาจารย์ ได้รับนามฉายาว่า วชิโร พ่อท่านคง วัดอัมพวัน เป็นพระอนุสาวนาจารย์
